We love to go to Svedjan Bageriet for breakfast. Simple coffee and excellent pastry, what could go wrong?
I shop there as often as I would like to, but the Spanish deli Supermercado has an amazing selection of delicacies. I go there to buy a treat for myself or to find a special gift for a friend.
If you’re craving a hearty and special lunch, that is sure to be followed by a cosy food coma, I’d go to Gazza. The interiors are great and the tiramisu with olive crumbles is already worth going there.
I frequently go to Papercut, a small but very well-assorted book shop just around the corner from our flat.
The owners have selected everything from the newest trending novels, to art books and a lot of art and fashion magazines. You won’t leave without buying something, guaranteed.
Art, always. Millesgården, is the beautiful home and atelier of the famous sculptor Carl Milles with a sculpture park, fountains, antique collection, art gallery, café & museum shop…A breathtaking venue.
In summer, we love to drive out further into the Archipelago. Nothing is more soothing than the sound of the ocean, laying on the hot rocks. With a bus you can be out there in just 30 minutes, the biggest perk about Stockholm, if you ask me.
Another favourite summer activity of mine is taking a boat out. There are a lot of boats going to smaller islands, where you can easily spend the whole day and make you dream of having your own summer house.
The other day I spent hours in the café of the modern museum Moderna Museet. I took a book to read but eavesdropping on the conversation around me about the exhibition they just saw or updating each other on their lives was way more interesting, I didn’t read a single page.
There’s a new cosy bar called Bar Ingrid. It’s very small, but definitely worth the wait if it’s crowded. They have the perfect little selection of wine and smaller dishes. Also, they’re right next door to a bakery, so I recommend ending the night with their famous apple cake!
I haven’t stayed there myself yet, but there’s a brand new hotel in the neighborhood called Stockholm Stadshotell, which I only heard amazing things about. It’s located in a historic mini castle from 1873, which has been delicately renovated in collaboration with local architects, designers, artists, and craftspeople.
