Jim Thompson x Kitt.Ta.Khon

ARCHIPELAGO collection

We were immediately struck by the way colour elevates such a simple and common shape of stool with this collaboration between heritage Thai silk brand Jim Thompson and Thai furniture design studio Kitt. Ta.Khon. Designer Teerapoj Teeropas developed new weaving techniques for the collection to complement the fabric designs from Jim Thompson. The Takpha Chair, forming part of the ARCHIPELAGO collection, features an aluminium structural frame embellished with colourful hand-woven recycled plastic and a seat cushion upholstered in fabrics from Jim Thompson's outdoor range to make the handsome little stools friendly for indoors or out.

Into Carry

Sexy bags and accessories from waste

Luke Phillips' circular design studio designs and makes bags and other adjacent accessories out of waste textiles and other materials like soft plastics. The Into Carry model is based on simple design templates that allow a vast range of low-value waste materials to be transformed into unique and useful things to carry other things in. Luke also empowers others to "upcycle like a pro" with in-person and online workshops, classes and courses. You too can learn how to turn your soy milk cartons, instant noodle wrappers and other waste into "durable, functional, sexy bags".

Jaime Hayon

Multileg Collection

Designed for the 2006 Milano Furniture Fair, Spanish designer Jaime Hayon's Multileg collection for BD Barcelona features cabinets and tables in a range of shapes and sizes, with entirely customisable configurations of 12 differently-shaped and patterned legs. Ranging from minimal and geometric to more organic and sculptural shapes, the legs transform the otherwise simple pieces into something much more playful.
