Iittala

Finnish brand Iittala has been making exquisite and colourful glassware and tableware since 1881. Some of its most timeless and beautiful designs include glassware designed by Kaj Franck and Aino Aalto and its iconic Aalto vase designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto. The challenge lies in choosing a colour.

Casa Cubista

Casa Cubista collaborates closely with traditional artisans, makers and small family-owned businesses in order to share traditional Portuguese design and craftsmanship with the rest of the world.Their collections include brightly patterned ceramics, hand carved wooden objects and linen towels.

A.A Danto x India Mahdavi

A collaboration between Alternative Artifacts Danto – part of the historic Japanese ceramic manufacturer Danto – and French-Iranian architect and designer India Mahdavi has resulted in a collection of beautifully pigmented and patterned tiles that showcase natural, traditional and experimental design techniques.

Kvadrat

Regular collaboration with some of the world’s most renowned and talented designers has allowed Danish brand Kvadrat to remain a leader in colour, quality and innovation in the design of textiles, rugs and acoustic solutions since 1968. Notable collaborations include Raw Color and Patricia Urquiola, with the latter resulting in the world’s first recycled polyester upholstery textile made from 100 per cent ocean-bound plastic waste.

Farrow & Ball

Using a precise blend of 12 pigments, and with each new colour undergoing thorough testing, Farrow and Ball has been perfecting its approach to colour and paint for 75 years from Dorset, England. Its range and intensity of colours truly is something to behold and its website alone offers a wealth of inspiration along with services such as virtual colour consultancy and detailed design advice by room and colour.

CommonRoom

Wallpaper that brings art to the many. Commissioning original designs from contemporary artists, CommonRoom produces an annual archival collection with a range of patterns and designs full of colour and life that celebrate the history of artist wallpaper. Alongside wallpaper, CommonRoom also offers other homewares with a range of artists’ patterns and designs.

Pellington Design

A modular wall-mounted shelf system with colourful bricks, offering both monochrome and custom colour scheme options. The detachable bricks and shelves in the Confetti wall system can be arranged and rearranged to create personalised, colourful shelf creations.

In Casa by Paboy

Based in Naples, producing hand-sewn cushion covers in a range of bright colours, sourced from local Neapolitan suppliers, In Casa by Paboy is a social enterprise, founded by Gambian-born craftsman and designer Paboy Bojang. Bojang, who is currently seeking asylum in Italy, employs fellow migrants and hopes to inspire other migrants in Naples.

FUTURE re MADE

Polly Cadden’s flat pack pieces made from post-industrial waste require no bolts, screws, glue or instructions. And her range of tables, benches, desks, bedside tables and custom shelving come in a kaleidoscope of colours.

Dowel Jones

Adam Lynch and Dale Hardiman are the duo behind the colourful and playful furniture from Dowel Jones. Some of their most colourful creations are a result of collaborations with local friends and designers such as the Butterfly Fantasy Foldy Table and the Geelong Weaving Mill Sister Chair. The brand’s Thimble stool comes in a choice of 27 colours but Hardiman and Lynch welcome requests for custom colours in this design and others.

Studio Kühü

Studio Kühü is a fashion and textile studio specialising in natural dyeing and bringing colour to textiles and clothing. Using only organic materials and colour-rich botanical materials from the Americas; Studio Kühü offers a sustainable alternative to traditional textile dyeing for both fashion brands and individuals – with a range of natural dyes to choose from.

Numbulwar Numburindi Arts

Located in Numbulwar in Australia’s Northern Territory, Numburindi Arts is a centre owned and run by the local community. Using locally-harvested pandanus leaf fibre, ghost nets and abandoned fishing line, artists at the centre use traditional weaving techniques to make Wulbung (baskets) and Yir (dillybags) in an array of bright colours and patterns.

HAY

If you’ve ever walked past the window of a HAY store you will be familiar with the brand’s bold approach to colour that somehow manages to land as simultaneously fresh and timeless. Established in 2002, HAY has collaborated with some of the world’s most notable designers as a means of bringing great design “to the many” with gems such as Inge Sempé’s Matin Table Lamp, Jochen Holz’s HAY jug, Naoto Fukasawa’s Pao Portable Lamp the the brand’s iconic Colourful Crates.

Spincycle Yarns

Initially handspinning and dyeing small batches of yarn, Kate Burge-Tibi and Rachel Price founded Spincycle Yarns in 2004. Their signature “Dyed In The Wool” yarn features slow colour changes and unique blending.

Vitra

From Alexander Girard’s playful Wooden Doll collection and the iconic Panton Chair to Dorothee Becker’s brilliant and versatile Uten.Silo RE wall organiser, Vitra’s collaborations with a broad range of renowned designers makes for a unique and timeless selection of furniture and accessories in a delightful range of colours.

Montana

The family-owned furniture company Montana has been designing eco-certified, functional and flexible modular furniture since 1982. Its range is available in 41 bold, deep and bright colours to mix and match.

USM

This Swiss design classic makes frequent appearances in homes featured on Never Too Small. Jaime Hayon

Combining bold colours, patterns and organic shapes, Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon’s work is influenced by both nature and life. From furniture to lighting, ceramics and textiles; Hayon’s designs are unique and highly covetable.

Amechi

A London-based design brand focusing on traditional African textiles and cultures. Founded by product and furniture designer Amechi Mandi, who is of Nigerian and Cameroonian heritage, he was inspired to launch an interiors brand focused on bringing both playfulness and colour to African design.
