I love having breakfast at Desirée Fleurs, a café-florist shop in my neighbourhood very close to Buttes Chaumont park. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and having breakfast surrounded by flowers is a wonderful experience. On weekends you can have an excellent brunch there.
Paris is the city of local markets! I always go to the same one, the Marché Jaurès, a very small market next to my house. I love talking to the vendors, and you can always find fresh products. After shopping, I usually have a drink at the Café de la Musique or take a walk in the La Villette park.
Seated :) I love eating on Parisian terraces, watching the busy pace of the city from a quiet table. One of my favourite places is Paloma, in the Belleville neighbourhood. The food is delicious and surprising. The menu changes daily!
I love bookstores. One of my favorites is the bookstore at the Museum of Photography, in the Saint-Paul neighbourhood. Another amazing store is La Nouvelle Chambre Clair. They often organise events with photographers, and you can find signed books. If you need to find an original gift or you are looking for some inspiring design ideas, Merci is the right place to go.
Always Art! The cultural offerings of Paris are endless, not just within the city. This year, I had the opportunity to photograph the Galleria Continua site in Les Moulins, an incredible industrial space with wonderful works. Of course, visiting any of the great French museums is highly recommended. If you are looking for something more intimate, I would go to the Bal, an independent place dedicated to exhibitions, publications, ideas and education, centered on the contemporary image in all its form.
Buttes Chaumont park, on a weekday, at sunset. It's my favorite place in Paris. Its topography and spaciousness allow you to forget you're in a very dense urban context. You can have a picnic on one of its meadows or have a drink in its famous pavilions. My favorite is Ora, the place where I got married last year !
A boat ride on the La Villette canal. You can go through a drawbridge and see amazing buildings, such as the Geode at the Science and Industry City or the National Dance Center.
I love public squares. The George Pompidou Square, in front of the Pompidou Center, the Contrescarpe square, in the Latin Quarter, or the Sainte Marta square, in Belleville, are perfect for sitting on a terrace and watching people go by. On sunny days, the famous Seine guinguettes are perfect for seeing the trendiest Parisians. My favorite is Rosa Bonheur.
I love to go to the Opera Garnier neighbourhood. I would start with a walk through the Galerie Vivienne to the Le Comptoir restaurant, where you can book a table upstairs with views of the Palais Royal. Then I would go for a drink at the bar of the Public House. Their cocktails are delicious !
The So hotel, near the Seine river. It has been renovated by the prestigious architect David Chipperfield. The hotel has a public space with a market, lively cafés, and bars. The interior of the hotel is modern and elegant, and the rooftop offers one of the best views of all Paris!
